Sometimes, leading transformation feels exactly like chasing your labrador across Richmond Park while he hurtles through a herd of deer.

You had a plan. You had authority. You even thought you had control.

Then… FENTON.

This iconic moment of British chaos has haunted many of us in the public sector.

What makes it even better?

Fenton was rejected from guide dog training for being “unsuitable.”

Yet here he is – leading change in his own way. Uninvited. Uncontrolled. Utterly committed.

I work with leaders who are tired of pretending they’re in control of the herd.
